float like a butterfly, sting like a bee

in other words, i am the greatest-- for behold what i have created!

click for big

closeup! wooo wooo!

my crowning glory, as i like to call it, was created based on the pomatomus sock pattern. except i made it a glove. and i made it inside out. intentionally, as the purl side was prettier, but then i had to reverse half the pattern in my head, for to make the purl side with the stockinette palm. it was all very mathy and knitty and the teensy tiny needles (zeros!) gave me a blister, so i'm quite glad it's over.

tomorrow morning is traffic court. sacrifice some chickens for me, would you?

also, following in the formidible footsteps of jiggs casey and subsequently the still-hibernating monkey, and i have joined consumating. you can view my profile in progress here. the reason my main picture is that moose is because the theme this week is "favorite tshirt." that one's mine. i traded my dirty wifebeater to a stranger in a bar for it.

i also joined another "dating" site, but the whole thing is very stressful and makes me feel pressure in my chest and sort of like i need to barph (tm) and so i think i might delete the whole thing.

and i need to take some better pictures of myself. unless me as a granny is a winner.... anyone?

this post sucks.

Your gloves are fantastic! Excellent work. Did you use dpns?

That is a most cool dating site. And I think the granny picture is fun. What will you do next?

hardly does this post suck. Those gloves are beautiful. Absolutely wonderful work! You as a granny makes me want to climb to the rooftop and do cartwheels. I wish I were a big lez so that we could be lovahs and move in together. You, me, Tits, Brooke, and Madge could have one giant lez house.

I was going to comment on your mad knitting skillz and your awesoms Consumating profile, but now all I can think about is the giant lez house.

I love those gloves so freaking much! They're awesome!

As for a profile picture, I could bring my camera Sunday and take your picture whilst you are radiant and rosy from shimmy-shakin... hehehehe

I am agog and aghast and amazed and all things 'a's.

Those gloves are incredible. I am so jealous. I can't believe you did that out of your own knittalicious head.

You are an ultimate knitting savant (your term).

I don't know what this consumate thing is, but I'm pretty sure I don't like it.

I NEED A PAIR!!! I have awesome "bum gloves" as my John calls them, from Iceland, but I need more. I will comisson you!

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ah, the gloves...I'm still in awe. And can I tell you again how perfectly adorable you were last night? I'm sorry I didn't move down to your end of the table, but I didn't want those newbies at my end to think I was anti-social.

I think your profile shows how cool, pretty, and fun you are.

I dig those gloves!

I want gloves!! I won't need them til next year when I move back to NJ, so you have plenty of time.

Wow that looks fantastic. I tried to make Pomatomus gloves, but after much ripping back and ripping back, like, 8 times to catch errors I had to admit the yarn wasn't working out... I ripped it all to zero but I still want to try this and you are so inspiring!

Who keeps your finger tips warm?

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I just wanted to say hello. I have been absent. :)

And I am jealous of your leet knitting skills.

I can't believe I just said leet. Just because I'm married to a geek doesn't mean I have to become one.

I fear it's too late.

I wish I was good at something. Besides rude comments and baking.

we're consumating buddies!

I think, if the picture you posted has not been altered in any way, that you're definitely a GMILF. Or more accurately a GMILFIIWAAMM (A granny I'd like to F** if I wasn't already a married man)

You've got mad knitting skillz too. I wish I knew someone like you, so I could nag them into making me a ridiculously long scarf.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Wow. You are a really good knitter. Perhaps one day you can knit me a full-body outfit. It would be HOT on so many levels.

Oh, by the way. This is Popo. I moved.

I marvel at your knitty genius.

Your gloves are such a pretty colour, and appear to be so very time-consuming! I am making a hate on 3.25mm needles (US size 3) and keep complaining that they're too small. So I marvel and am seventeen times as impressed as I was with you before, and that was pretty impressed.

In fact, I'm pretty sure I would soon offer you a sheep and follow you around like one if I lived anywhere near you. Good thing I'm far away in Canadia, eh?

Anonymous laurie said...

I have to tell you that those gloves are beyond a doubt the most beautiful knitted objects I have ever seen.

OMG when I went to post that last comment the word verification was "foezi" and now all I am doing is sitting here saying to myself, "Fo' easy! Fo' sheazy! I am fo' cheesy!"

Blogger Cookie said...

Fantastic gloves. I am knitting my first sweater. I am on the front, and for some reason, I cannot make things go as smoothly as the back. I have ripped back more times than I can count. It is a simple freaking pattern.

I will never graduate to beautiful gloves and snuggly socks.

Coolio.

Okay, enough already. Can I please just have my gloves back now? LOL~~Tara
