welcome to my blaaaaahhhhhg

last year, despite my stoic and well-meaning efforts to remain curmudgeonly and unamused, my life was changed. somehow i became acquainted with a furry little simian named monkey. i read his posts (graciously typed for him by his delightful and smokin hot human) with delight and had never been so happy.

until.

until i heard the voice of monkey, the sweet soothing cadence, the dulcet tones of, "hello, this is monkey. welcome to my blaahhhgg."

and i was forever enamored of monkey. our love was of the ages.

my favorite audio post might be monkey hospital. then again, who can forget thanksgiving greetings? monkey also performed an audio meme for me. just for me!!!!

all i know is that when monkey mysteriously disappeared recently, i took to my bed and have not been the same.

i miss monkey desperately, and hope he is well where ever he may be. (though should he not be happy, my armpit is open for monkey business.)

monkey approving audio posts.

monkey is being loved across the internets today, by grandpooofawesome, spinning girl, brooke, knittykitty, jiggs casey, nick, ubermilf, and many more, i'm sure.

monkey love is like that you know.

monkey's voice is so sexy. I want to have 10 million of its babies.

I want to have 20 million of his babies. So there.

Monkey is so cool, he could have 10 million of his own babies.

i don't understand the armpit action...

uber: indeed.

monkeygurrl: monkey went into hiding for a while, but (as we learned today) is alive and well. monkey promises to be back soon. yay!

jiggs: monkey’s voice gives me a twinge in my peep.

brooke: jiggs just wants monkey’s voice, apparently. so you should both be okay. (though i would probably consent to carrying a monkey-let or two.)

nicek: that’s true. his hoohah is large enough that labor would be easy.

fatwonkidd: monkey likes to snuggle armpits. if you are looking for something to do, i suggest perusing monkey’s archives. very edutaining.

spinner: it’s so true. monkey love is the love by which all other loves should be judged.

egan: i long to hear monkey once again.

christophe: get your pretentious turtleneck-wearing french-ennui-coated butt out of here. if you were half as worldly as you pretend to be, you would know that monkey is to be loved! roar!

pants: monkey does that, like a nice brandy.

jewels: we all miss monkey. it’s okay to cry. i won’t tell.

grend31: indeed i am. you are correct once again.

My relationship with the person behind the monkey takes place mostly in email. With all due respect I would think that anyone who really knows about the personal life and struggles of that person would have left well enough alone.
Granted the person has told me that I am the "only one who understands what she has been through." I just know without a doubt these things.

#1 This kind of thing and the non-stop "where are I miss you please post" crap on the blog is the kinds of stuff that the person finds upsetting and guilt inducing.

#2 If the person wants to start doing the monkey thing again they will when they are ready and able and not because of pressure. Anyone who really knows the person would know the pressure will just prolong the absence.

#3 If you haven't seen the person log on in your stat-meter the last month it's because they haven't been to your blog.

#3 To be a real friend to someone you must really, truly know that person.

I know the intentions were positive but you've all made a big mistake.

autumn: go read the archives! so worthwhile!

captain howdy girl: i also have emailed with monkey's human and am well aware of the situation. monkey appeared on many of our blogs to respond to these posts with appreciation, and your comment is unnecessarily unkind. no one made a mistake, no one pressured monkey to return. we just wanted to take a day to remember all the good times with monkey and wish him well.

i regret that you see it this way, but emails do not make you an expert. i do not claim to be one myself, but i know that were i in a similar situation, which i have been, i would be very grateful for the love and affection.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaayum, Cpt. Howdy Girl. I have no idea what is going on with the Monkey and stuff, but unless you are him, you need to relax. Sheeesh. We're just saying we love the Monkey.

Also, #4 is what usually follows #3, just FYI.

Wow. Kendra, you were much more diplomatic than I would have been. Kudos to you.

I also miss Monkey. Monkey is a little voice that we all recognize within ourselves, and that's why it hurts that he is gone.

But I also know that loving Monkey is not GUILT inducing at all. We are all enamored of the Monkey. Perhaps, things are just THERE and have to be dealt with, and aren't our business, or ARE our business, or whatever.

I think the Monkey tribute is wonderful. And Monkey knows when it's time to start swingin' from tree to tree. Monkey is his own boss. No one else can change that.

Thank you, Miss Kendra, for this tribute.

Ummm... ouch. Kendra, I stand behind what you said. Captain, there are much better ways to bring up this issue than to lambast her on her blog. It's not like she's the only one that did this. You go Kendra.
